Purpose of the role
As (Senior) Regulatory Specialist for Southeast Asia (SEA) and new markets, you ensure that products can be launched and remain compliant across a dynamic and expanding international market portfolio. You translate complex country requirements into clear, scalable compliance solutions and lead product registration, notification and market-entry activities from regulatory assessment through execution and maintenance.
At senior level, you act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor. You independently shape approaches where no established framework exists, lead complex cross-functional workstreams and strengthen the capability of colleagues through knowledge sharing and coaching.
Key accountabilities
· Own end-to-end regulatory readiness for assigned SEA markets and selected new-country launches, including requirements assessment, registration, notification, listing and post-market maintenance.
· Develop practical market-entry compliance strategies, roadmaps and requirements frameworks, translating regulatory complexity into clear actions, decisions and timelines for the business.
· Assess product and portfolio compliance against applicable local requirements, identify gaps and risks, and drive proportionate mitigation with internal and external stakeholders.
· Coordinate the preparation, review, legalization and submission of regulatory dossiers, declarations, certificates and supporting product documentation.
· Review product artwork and labelling for applicable legal and safety information before market introduction and manage required local adaptations.
· Act as the primary regulatory contact for assigned markets, partnering with local commercial teams, distributors, consultants, suppliers and relevant authorities or industry bodies.
· Monitor regulatory developments and proactively convert changes into impact assessments, business advice, updated guidance and sustainable processes.
· Lead complex cross-functional projects and market-entry workstreams, maintaining oversight of dependencies, priorities, risks and stakeholder decisions.
· Maintain complete, accurate and audit-ready regulatory records in relevant document and product data systems.
· Create reusable tools, standards and ways of working that improve consistency, speed and scalability across Market Compliance.
· Provide expert advice and act as an escalation point for non-routine questions within the assigned scope.
· Coach colleagues and share market and process knowledge, providing informal leadership without formal people-management responsibility.
Key interfaces
You work closely with Regulatory Affairs colleagues and cross-functional partners in Quality, Safety, Innovation, Product Development, Packaging/Artwork, Sourcing, Legal, Supply Chain and Commercial teams.
Externally, you collaborate with local partners, distributors, consultants, suppliers and competent authorities where relevant.
What success looks like
· Regulatory requirements and launch dependencies are identified early, clearly communicated and translated into executable plans.
· Assigned registrations, notifications and compliance deliverables are accurate, complete and progressed with strong ownership.
· Regulatory risks are made transparent and supported by pragmatic, evidence-based recommendations and escalation where needed.
· New-market approaches are scalable, documented and embedded in the wider Market Compliance way of working.
· Stakeholders experience Regulatory Affairs as a proactive, credible and solution-oriented business partner.
