Data Product Analyst

As Data Product Analyst, you will turn business needs into clear, engineering-ready data requirements and help shape solutions that work across our technology landscape. You will join our Tech & Data department as part of the B2B, Sales & Marketing team, supporting Wholesale & Travel Retail, Marketing, and Format & Design. You’ll be working closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, (Data) Engineers and business stakeholders. You connect the dots between processes, systems and end-to-end data flows, investigate dependencies, clarify business logic and assess the impact of change before development begins. Throughout delivery, you will support backlog refinement, validate data and help confirm that solutions meet their intended purpose.

In this role, you will: 

• Translate business needs into clear data requirements, business rules and data contracts that enable engineering teams to deliver effective solutions. 
• Analyse end-to-end data flows, system interactions and source-to-target relationships to identify dependencies, risks and the impact of change. 
• Prepare work for engineering by resolving ambiguity, supporting discovery and solution design, and contributing to backlog refinement and prioritisation. 
• Validate datasets and delivered solutions through SQL analysis, data quality checks, requirement verification and user acceptance testing. 
• Connect business and technology teams by explaining business context, technical implications and expected outcomes in a clear and practical way. 

You are a curious and analytical professional who enjoys understanding how business processes, technology and data connect. Rather than focusing on one application, you naturally zoom out to see the wider landscape and investigate how information moves between systems. You are comfortable working through complexity and ambiguity, asking thoughtful questions and bringing structure to topics that are not yet fully defined. With a collaborative and grounded approach, you build shared understanding between business and technical specialists. You do not need to be an engineer, but you understand data well enough to challenge assumptions, investigate issues and help teams move from an initial need towards a solution that is ready to build.

To be successful in this role, you:

• Have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in product analysis, data analysis, business analysis or a related discipline, including collaboration with engineering teams.
• Are confident using SQL to understand data models, investigate discrepancies and validate data and delivered solutions.
• Have experience translating stakeholder needs into actionable data requirements and assessing impacts across processes, systems and data flows.
• Understand data structures, modelling and quality concepts, and have experience supporting testing or user acceptance testing.
• Communicate clearly with business and technology stakeholders; experience with Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, metadata, data catalogues, data lineage or data governance is an advantage.
