As General Manager House of Rituals, you will lead one of Rituals’ most distinctive destinations, in the heart of Amsterdam. House of Rituals is where retail, wellbeing, hospitality and brand experience come together in a way that goes far beyond a traditional flagship store. It also serves as a key event venue, bringing activations, experiences and brand moments to life.

In this role, you are responsible for the overall performance, direction and development of the House. You lead the key functions within the building, including Sales, Marketing, Operations and Events, with approximately 30 FTE, and oversee Rituals Café through the franchise manager. You report directly to the Retail Director.

House of Rituals plays a unique role within Rituals. It is not only a high-profile customer destination, but also a place where new concepts, innovations and experiences are tested in real life. This gives the role a strong cross-functional dimension. You work closely with local and corporate head office teams to align priorities, connect functions and translate ideas into seamless customer experiences and strong commercial execution.

We are looking for a leader who combines strategic perspective with a hands-on mindset. Someone who understands what excellence looks like on the floor, knows how to operate in a complex environment and brings people together around a shared ambition.

As General Manager, you ensure House of Rituals performs as one connected destination. You drive commercial results, safeguard operational excellence and create alignment across teams, functions and partners. At the same time, you enable innovation by creating the right conditions to test, learn and continuously improve.

What you’ll do

Lead the House

  • Take end-to-end responsibility for the performance and day-to-day leadership of House of Rituals
  • Lead the key functions within the building, including Sales, Marketing, Operations and Events, and oversee Rituals Café through the franchise manager
  • Align teams, priorities and disciplines to ensure the House operates as one cohesive destination
  • Set the standard for leadership, collaboration and execution across the building

Drive commercial and operational excellence

  • Translate strategy into strong commercial execution and consistent operational delivery
  • Monitor performance, identify opportunities and take action to improve results
  • Safeguard high standards across service, planning, stock, compliance, health and safety, and ways of working
  • Ensure every part of the House contributes to a premium and consistent customer experience

Connect stakeholders and drive innovation

  • Act as the key link between House of Rituals and local/corporate head office teams across Retail, Marketing, Operations, HR and other relevant functions
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships to align priorities and move cross-functional initiatives forward
  • Partner with internal teams on the rollout, testing and evaluation of new concepts, activations, events and innovations
  • Foster a test-and-learn mindset, using insights from customers, teams and performance to drive continuous improvement

Build strong teams and partnerships

  • Lead with clarity, confidence and empathy, creating a culture of ownership, collaboration and accountability
  • Develop strong leaders and create the conditions for teams to grow and perform at their best
  • Work closely with internal and external partners to strengthen the visibility, quality and impact of House of Rituals
  • Represent the House as a strategic and inspiring destination within the wider Rituals organisation

Dit ben jij

You are a commercially driven leader with strong emotional intelligence and experience in a complex, customer-facing environment. You know how to lead at scale, stay close to the business and bring different stakeholders together to make things happen.

You combine strategic thinking with a hands-on leadership style and understand what it takes to run a high-profile location where brand experience, operations, hospitality and commercial performance must come together every day.

On top of this, you bring:

  • At least 10 years of leadership experience in retail, hospitality, events or other branded customer environments
  • Strong in-store experience, with time spent close to the shop floor
  • Proven experience leading a flagship, multi-floor or otherwise complex, high-volume location
  • A strong track record in commercial performance, operational excellence and people leadership
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders across different functions
  • The ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and turn ideas into execution
  • High emotional intelligence and a leadership style that builds trust, ownership and collaboration
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluency in English; Dutch is a plus, but not required
